XTab Removal Tips

XTab is a potentially unwanted application that comes with a browser hijacker. It was developed by Beijing ELEX Technology Co. Ltd. Although the program is installed as XTab, its interface is called Search Protect.

The software modifies your browser settings as soon as it gets access to your PC. It changes your home page and default search provider. The developers of the program may claim that it is a useful tool that will help you keep your browser settings protected, but it will only do so, if you keep the settings altered by the hijacker. Since there is no point in having an application that does not follow through on its promises, we suggest you terminate XTab.

How does XTab work?

XTab is compatible with all popular web browsers like Mozilla, IE and Google Chrome. It changes their settings by replacing home page and default search engine with mystartsearch.com, delta-homes.com, luckysearches.com, key-find.com, sweet-page.com or similar. The site that is set as your new home page may contain various quick access links and adverts. We do not recommend clicking on those, as none of them are reliable. If you try using the search provider, you will be redirected to Google.com, Yahoo.com, etc. or you will be provided with original results. The search results may include sponsored content. As a part of its functionality, the application makes sure that you can not restore your browser settings manually. At least, not until you delete XTab.

The application makes other unwanted alterations as well. It causes redirects in the middle of your browsing which lead you to unknown pages. It also tracks your cookies in order to collect information about your browsing history, made searches, IP address, geo-location and so on. XTab is also known to insert various advertisements into your browsers, so when you surf the Web you will encounter all sorts of commercial data, some of which may be fake. As you can see, the best decision right now would be to eliminate XTab from your system.

How to remove XTab?

XTab is similar to other software of this type like KeepMySettingsX, Keep My Search, Search Protect by Client Connect Ltd and by Conduit. None of these programs have computer user’s interest in mind. They only serve their own purpose. That is why we suggest that you waste no time and uninstall XTab from your PC. You can use manual XTab removal instructions below or you can remove XTab by implementing a malware removal tool. Automatic removal is certainly a more effective solution as it will ensure that your computer stays clean and protected from other online threats.

none of the anti malware programs is able to remove the stamplive adware from my computer. I’m afraid the only solution will be to go back to factory settings.

I had price minus ads popping up often in all webpages. It was driving me nuts.! I removed an extension from my browser (Firefox). I started deleting the extensions that I knew were not vital. And no more popups! I do have a couple of malware programs, and they too failed to remove these ads. But removing the extensions from Firefox + the add-ons section its what did the trick! I also did the same thing to google chrome browser, I deleted some add-ons, and extensions as well.
