What is System Check?
System Check is a fake antivirus, that enters a PC without permission and attempts to convince the user that his or her computer is infected and needs immediate help. This application is identical to a well known System Fix and belongs to the same FakeHDD family. When it enters user’s computer, the rogue will show various messages trying to prove that the system is seriously ill and that the only way to clean it is to install the full version of System Check. Of course, this whole thing is fake and you should not buy the promoted software. Instead we advise to delete System Check.
What does System Check do?
Such applications usually use the existing vulnerabilities of the victim’s computer to get inside a new PC. Very often System Check enters a system with a help from a Trojan. Once inside, the malware performs a fake scan. The results of this scan, of course, show that some malicious software is in your computer. The only way to clean your PC, according to this bogus software, is to install a full version of System Check. We caution you not to do that. Not only you will waste your money on a useless security software, but you will also reveal your personal banking information to cyber criminals. Stay away from the download button and remove System Check from your PC.
One of the ways this rogue attempts to convince the users that their systems are infected is by presenting various warning pop-ups. These messages usually look like that:
An error occurred while reading system files. Run a system diagnostic utility to check your hard disk drive for errors.
Hard drive critical error. Run a system diagnostic utility to check your hard disk drive for errors. Windows can’t find hard disk space. Hard drive error.
Hard drive clusters are partly damaged. Segment load failure.
If you carefully read the each message, you will immediately understand that they cannot be truthful. If your computer would seriously experience critical hard drive errors, you would not be able to turn on your PC in the first place. Do not believe these alerts and terminate System Check.
Another reason to immediately take care of System Check removal is the fact that it hides all your shortcuts in the Temp folder. After you get rid of System Check, you can recover the lost shortcuts, however you must remember not to delete the folder while the fake antivirus is in your computer.
To make the System Check removal smoother, you should not forget to “register” this intruder with the following activation code:
After the activation, all the messages will disappear and you will be able to uninstall System Check.
How to remove System Check?
It should be rather obvious that you must perform System Check removal as soon as possible. This is clearly a dangerous and harmful malware which cannot stay in your PC. Since the application is quite complicated, we do not advise to erase System Check manually. The best decision would be to install a reputable and powerful anti-malware and let it deal with this problem.
