Search.coupons.com Removal Guide

Search.coupons.com is a browser hijacker that usually comes as a part of a toolbar called Couponsbar. It alters your browser settings by replacing your home page and default search engine. As you can probably guess from its name the program is supposed to provide you with various coupons that should help you save money while shopping online.

Unfortunately, the main purpose of the hijacker has nothing to do with that. The hijacker was designed to promote its sponsors, which is how its developers make profit. If you want to get rid of Search.coupons.com, you will also have to delete its related program.

How does Search.coupons.com work?

As soon as you install Couponsbar Toolbar, your home page and default search engine get switched to Search.coupons.com. The website itself provides you with various coupons grouped into 3 categories: Top 10 Coupon Codes, Top 10 New Coupons and Top 10 Trending Now. It also has a link to coupons.com and a list of online stores on that website. Search.coupons.com makes use of Bing search engine. It does not present you with original results.

Because of the toolbar, you will also see various advertisements appear on your screen. Not all of these ads are safe. You should be careful with the commercial content as it is not checked by anyone. You could see fake adverts leading to corrupted sites. If there is anything suspicious about the advertisement, do not click on it. In fact, it would be best to avoid all ads completely.

Search.coupons.com may also cause redirects to unfamiliar pages. You may notice that the hijacker slows down your Internet connection and system speed. You should also know that it tracks your cookies in order to personalize ads that your browsers are filled with. This trick is used to persuade you into clicking on the adverts. We suggest you terminate Search.coupons.com immeditely.

none of the anti malware programs is able to remove the stamplive adware from my computer. I’m afraid the only solution will be to go back to factory settings.

I had price minus ads popping up often in all webpages. It was driving me nuts.! I removed an extension from my browser (Firefox). I started deleting the extensions that I knew were not vital. And no more popups! I do have a couple of malware programs, and they too failed to remove these ads. But removing the extensions from Firefox + the add-ons section its what did the trick! I also did the same thing to google chrome browser, I deleted some add-ons, and extensions as well.
