Where does come from? is a part of a potentially unwanted application that you have acquired together with free software. Freeware and shareware are distributed together with additional programs like adware and browser hijackers. The reason you may not notice them is because they are attached to the software as additional offers. In some cases, unless you choose Advanced or Custom installation mode, you will not even see that you are installing more than one application. To avoid unwanted software, you should always pick Advanced installation option and decline all additional offers no matter what they may be.

How does work? modifies your browser settings as soon as it gets access to your system. It changes your home page and default search provider. The site itself may look like any other web search page, however, you should not be fooled by that. If you try using the so-called search provider, you are bound to be presented with sponsored links. Since the main purpose of the hijacker is to generate web traffic, it will add commercial data not only to the search results page, but also to every other site that you visit. It does not make any difference if the webpage has nothing to do with online shopping, you will still face the adverts.

The main problem with the commercial content is that it is not reliable. You can not trust the links that you are provided with as they are not endorsed by the application. If you click on a fake advert and end up on a malware harboring website, you will have no one to blame but yourself. Moreover, the infection also causes other unwanted symptoms like Internet connection slow downs that occur because of the excessive amount of ads. It also tracks your cookies and records your browsing history. The information is used to personalize the ads and make them seem more appealing. Do not ignore these disturbances. Terminate right away.

none of the anti malware programs is able to remove the stamplive adware from my computer. I’m afraid the only solution will be to go back to factory settings.

I had price minus ads popping up often in all webpages. It was driving me nuts.! I removed an extension from my browser (Firefox). I started deleting the extensions that I knew were not vital. And no more popups! I do have a couple of malware programs, and they too failed to remove these ads. But removing the extensions from Firefox + the add-ons section its what did the trick! I also did the same thing to google chrome browser, I deleted some add-ons, and extensions as well.
