Fake AdwCleaner Removal Tips (Remove Fake AdwCleaner)

Fake AdwCleaner is a rogue version of a popular anti-spyware application called AdwCleaner. Once it enters your computer, it shows you fictitious scan results in order to scam you into wasting your money on it. The real AdwCleaner is actually free, so if you see an offer to purchase it, you can be sure that it is not the legitimate program.

The rogue software has an official site where it is usually downloaded. However, this page is only accessible if your computer is already infected with an ad-supported application. If you have the unreliable software installed on your PC, you should terminate Fake AdwCleaner along with it.

How does Fake AdwCleaner work?

Fake AdwCleaner gets distributed with the help of adware. If your computer has an ad-supported program that fills your browsers with various types of ads, it may have also presented you with the website that promotes the fake anti-spyware, namely www.vikingwebscanner.com. On this page you will see a message that claims that the pop-ups and ads you see are caused by adware that is installed on your computer. That much is true. However, instead of presenting your with a legitimate solution, the malicious domain provides you with Fake AdwCleaner.

Once you download and install the rogue anti-spyware, it starts a fictitious scan that always results in a list of non-existent threats. The program then urges you to eliminate these threats by upgrading it to the full version. That costs $59.99, a sum that must be paid to a specific PayPal account. This is nothing but a scam aimed at making easy profit. If you do make the purchase, you will receive the legitimate AdwCleaner that you could have downloaded for free. Unfortunately, it will not detect the fake anti-spyware. There is no need for you to waste money on a free tool that will not even detect all infections in your system. What you should do is delete Fake AdwCleaner right away and download a reliable anti-malware utility.

How to remove Fake AdwCleaner from my PC?

none of the anti malware programs is able to remove the stamplive adware from my computer. I’m afraid the only solution will be to go back to factory settings.

I had price minus ads popping up often in all webpages. It was driving me nuts.! I removed an extension from my browser (Firefox). I started deleting the extensions that I knew were not vital. And no more popups! I do have a couple of malware programs, and they too failed to remove these ads. But removing the extensions from Firefox + the add-ons section its what did the trick! I also did the same thing to google chrome browser, I deleted some add-ons, and extensions as well.
