What is Omniboxes.com?

How Omniboxes.com Works?

According to our database, omniboxes.com is a browser hijacker that is related to a number of previously released computer infections. It is very similar to Qone8.com, PortaldoSites.com, Istart.webssearches.com, and many other hijackers from the Qvo6 family. This means that although you initiate the browser hijacker’s installation yourself, omniboxes.com does not ask for your permission. For example, you might want a program that comes bundled with this hijacker, so you install it on your PC. Automatically, omniboxes.com changes your browser settings, but it does not inform you about it. Therefore, we can conclude that this application is a malicious infection.

Why you need to remove Omniboxes.com?

However, unlike Trojans or worms, this browser hijacker cannot cause any great harm because it is more of a vehicle than an actual malicious tool. That is to say, omniboxes.com does function as a search engine and it can provide you with relevant search results, but you will also see a lot of sponsored links. Third parties often make use of omniboxes.com to promote their content. Unfortunately, quite often this browser hijacker is exploited by cyber criminals to expose users to malicious websites or even to distribute malware. Therefore, even if omniboxes.com seems like a reliable search engine, you should never use it for your searches.

The fact that omniboxes.com comes uninvited should be enough to convince you that this program cannot be trusted. In order to protect yourself from further malicious exploitations, you need to restore your browser settings and remove all the programs that might be related to omniboxes.com. To be sure that you terminate all the potential threats, scan your computer with a licensed antimalware application. A reliable computer security tool is your best choice if you need to protect your system from any unwanted intruders.

We also provide instructions on how to restore your browser settings to default. Take note that although you can remove omniboxes.com from your browser, some of the hijacker’s files might still be present on your system. Hence, a full PC scan is always a good idea.

none of the anti malware programs is able to remove the stamplive adware from my computer. I’m afraid the only solution will be to go back to factory settings.

I had price minus ads popping up often in all webpages. It was driving me nuts.! I removed an extension from my browser (Firefox). I started deleting the extensions that I knew were not vital. And no more popups! I do have a couple of malware programs, and they too failed to remove these ads. But removing the extensions from Firefox + the add-ons section its what did the trick! I also did the same thing to google chrome browser, I deleted some add-ons, and extensions as well.
