MyTransitGuide Removal Guide

MyTransitGuide is a potentially unwanted application created by Mindspark Interactive Network Inc. In its official website mytransitguide.com, the program is promoted as a tool which is able to “Locate maps, routes, fares and schedules for FREE”.

However, its main goal seems to be the promotion of the third parties and so it works as an ad-supported browser extension. Since it is compatible with all major browsers (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox) the only way to avoid it is to delete MyTransitGuide.

What does MyTransitGuide do?

While users mainly complain about the numerous ads presented by this application, you should also be concerned over the new search tool it presents. If you are not careful during the installation procedure, you will end up with Ask.com as your new home page and default search engine. While at first glance the software may look completely trustworthy, you should remember that Ask.com is known for the promotion of the third parties. This means that every time you perform a search using this search engine, you may expect additional and sponsored links to be mixed with relevant links. The links are very annoying and intrusive and they also can cause some serious damage to your PC. The software does not monitor the third parties it promotes and it does not check the websites you will be routed to. As a result, you enter a completely unknown page which may turn out to be malicious. Do not take such risk with your system and terminate MyTransitGuide at once.

Another reason not to trust this tool is the clandestine manner of distribution its creators use. While some people acquire the application from its official site, the majority of them find it in their computers after freeware installation. It means that the toolbar travels bundled with freeware you install from untrustworthy pages. If this is how you downloaded this software, we recommend to delete MyTransitGuide right away. Next time you download free of charge application, you need to pay more attention to the installation procedure. In the future, monitor every step of the installation wizard and do not allow some suspicious program sneak into your system unnoticed. For now concentrate on MyTransitGuide removal.

none of the anti malware programs is able to remove the stamplive adware from my computer. I’m afraid the only solution will be to go back to factory settings.

I had price minus ads popping up often in all webpages. It was driving me nuts.! I removed an extension from my browser (Firefox). I started deleting the extensions that I knew were not vital. And no more popups! I do have a couple of malware programs, and they too failed to remove these ads. But removing the extensions from Firefox + the add-ons section its what did the trick! I also did the same thing to google chrome browser, I deleted some add-ons, and extensions as well.
