Dregol.com Removal Guide

Dregol.com is a browser hijacker that can alter your browser settings without your approval. Once the hijacker takes over, it changes you home page and default search provider. It also causes other disturbances like redirects, adverts, Internet connection slow downs and so on.

These symptoms will appear in all of your browsers, since the hijacker is compatible with all of them. However, it seems to affect Mozilla Firefox the most, because it also adds Search Engine and Fast Start extensions to it. If you want to go back to normal Internet surfing, you should not hesitate to remove Dregol.com.

How does Dregol.com work?

When you infect your PC with the browser hijacker, it changes your home page and default search engine to Dregol.com. The website does not have much on it aside from a search box and such search parameters as Web, Images, Videos, News and Games. When you enter a query into the box and press Enter, you get redirected to Yahoo Search. This search provider is not unreliable, however, it does bring you ads and sponsored links. The adverts will also appear on other sites, even if they are not related to the hijacker. We urge you to stay away from them as some of the commercials are fake. If the advert looks suspicious, do not risk your system’s security by clicking on it.

If you do not remember how you ended up with the unwanted application, it is most likely because it was installed together with other freeware and you simply did not notice it. Browser hijackers and other potentially unwanted programs get distributed with the help of download managers that add them to free software. Dregol.com is known to come bundled with such potentially unwanted applications as VuuPC, Pro PC Cleaner, PC Speed Up, RocketTab and some others. It is very likely that you have one of these programs in your system. When you delete Dregol.com, make sure that you also get rid of other useless software.

none of the anti malware programs is able to remove the stamplive adware from my computer. I’m afraid the only solution will be to go back to factory settings.

I had price minus ads popping up often in all webpages. It was driving me nuts.! I removed an extension from my browser (Firefox). I started deleting the extensions that I knew were not vital. And no more popups! I do have a couple of malware programs, and they too failed to remove these ads. But removing the extensions from Firefox + the add-ons section its what did the trick! I also did the same thing to google chrome browser, I deleted some add-ons, and extensions as well.
